Things to know before you go!
Can we visit if a member in my group is sick or has a fever?
Lewisburg Children’s Museum has always had a sick policy in place. Staff and visitors will be instructed to stay home if they have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other known symptoms of COVID-19. Please plan to visit us when you are once more healthy!
Are masks required?
Following CDC and PA Department of Health guidelines, all guests over the age of 2 are required to wear a mask. LCM staff will be masked as well. Masks should be worn securely around the mouth and nose. Wearing a mask is currently the best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Wearing a mask protects us all and is the kind thing to do!
How do we buy tickets?
Reservations for members and non-members are required to ensure we meet new capacity restrictions. Reservations can be made online. Are you a member? Use discount code “Member” when purchasing your tickets online. Are you a Museum for All guest? Use discount code “Museums4All” when purchasing your tickets online. Members and Museum for All guests will be asked to present identification. Are you a Gift certificate holder? Call the museum to make your reservation. Advanced tickets will be transferable with 24 hours notice. After 24 hours, they are nontransferable and non refundable.
What is physical distancing?
Visitors and staff are asked to practice physical distancing by staying 6 feet away from others who are not in their group where ever possible. Signage throughout the museum and markings on the floor will provide visual cues for physical distancing. Seating areas and smaller exhibits where physical distancing is not possible will have recommendations for small groups. Exhibits will have capacity limits based on the specific size and layout of each space.
How will we know what the exhibit restrictions are?
Ample signage will be added throughout the museum to educate visitors on safety and cleaning protocols, to remind visitors to maintain physical distancing, and practice proper hand washing.
Will sanitizer be available to guests?
Hand sanitizer stations will be available at the museum’s entrance and throughout the museum. Hand washing remains the best way to prevent the spread of germs. We ask that visitors wash hands frequently during a museum visit, especially after: using the restroom, sneezing, touching the face, blowing their nose, and before or after entering the museum.
Will capacity be limited?
To meet current state guidelines, the Lewisburg Children’s Museum will be reducing capacity by 50% during operational hours until further guidance is provided.
What is the LCM's cleaning procedure?
LCM has implemented an extension of our rigorous, routine cleaning, including increased cleaning of high-touch areas. Mutliple times throughout the day, LCM staff will close specific exhibit spaces to do cleanings. We will continue our daily cleaning and sanitizing processes. Throughout the day staff will monitor and disinfect high touch areas such as tabletops, chairs, countertops, benches, seats, rubbish bins door handles, light switches and restrooms.
Will everything be the same as the last time we visited?
To better protect guests, the LCM has made a number of changes- temporarily closing old exhibits and adding a few new things! The number of exhibit props have been reduced on the Museum floor to make sanitization faster and easier for our staff. Props will be available for check out during a visit. They will be returned and be sanitized. Remaining props and manipulatives from each exhibit area will be removed and replaced with a fresh set after each session. The museum will be closed in between each session while staff clean and disinfect the exhibits and set out fresh props. Most costumes and stuffed animals have been temporarily removed from our exhibit spaces. While these costumes are routinely washed, they will not withstand daily washing. We look forward to bringing them back soon.
Will your hours be the same?
Our hours will be temporarily adjusted to accommodate new requirements for limited capacity and increased santization. We hope to return to our normal hours again soon!
